Our Environmental Services Division (ESD) is currently looking for a qualified individual to join our team as a REGULATORY COORDINATOR.
POSITION OVERVIEW
This is a mid level, full-time placement out of our head office in Calgary, Alberta. We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive individual to support regulatory team with Public Land and Water Act related compliance objectives. Responsibilities include but are not limited to, Water Act Applications, Public Land Applications, ETS / EDP Analysis, Third Party Consents, Compliance Monitoring & Water Use Tracking, WURS reporting and various other regulatory objectives.
REQUIRED SKILLS
- Act as a point of contact with regulators and government agencies, including supporting audits, inspections, information requests, and responses.
- Track regulatory commitments, permit conditions, and compliance activities, monitoring due dates and escalating risks or delays.
- Ensure regulatory submissions and reporting are completed accurately and on time (e.g., waste tracking, water use reporting, and compliance reports).
- Liaise with provincial regulators, municipalities, consultants, and internal stakeholders on environmental and compliance matters.
- Support Operations and internal teams to ensure compliance with applicable legislation and regulations.
- Prepare and submit regulatory applications, ensuring completeness and accuracy. Coordinate and support third-party applications, ensuring alignment with project timelines and compliance requirements.
- Support Temporary Diversion Licence (TDL) applications, including preparation, submission, and follow-up with regulators.
- Monitor and track water usage across operations. Maintain accurate and up-to-date water tracking systems and databases. Compile and submit water reporting in accordance with regulatory standards and internal reporting requirements.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Diploma or degree in Environmental Science, Natural Resources, Engineering Technology, or a related field.
- Prior experience with AER Regulations, OneStop Applications, TDL Applications, other AER related platforms is strongly preferred.
- Knowledge of water management, tracking, and reporting practices.
- Strong organizational skills with high attention to detail.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to manage and prioritize objectives to meet project timelines.
