Kids & Company is seeking a dedicated and reliable Cook to join our team. Reporting to the Executive Head Chef, you will play an integral role in the day-to-day operation of our kitchen, preparing healthy meals and snacks for children attending our daycare centres. This position is ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment, is passionate about food safety and quality, and enjoys the unique benefit of an early morning schedule (4:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m.), leaving your afternoons free.

Prepare, cook, and bake all meals and snacks along with Executive Chef for delivery to daycare centres on a daily basis.

Ensure food is stored, handled, and disposed of safely in accordance with food safety regulations.

Maintain daily temperature logs for food, refrigerators, and freezers.

Prepare specialized meals and snacks for children with allergies, dietary restrictions, and vegetarian requirements.

Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of children with allergies and special dietary needs.

Ensure compliance with all health, safety, sanitation, and food handling regulations.

Oversee kitchen operations, including dishwashing, cleaning, and sanitizing of equipment, workstations, counters, and storage areas.

Help prepare food for field trips, school-age programs, and community events.

Perform additional duties as assigned to support the needs of the business.

Available to work Monday to Friday, 4:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m.

Current Food Handler Certification.

Minimum 2–4 years of Lead cook experience.

Experience working in a daycare, school, healthcare, or high-volume food service environment is considered an asset.

Valid driver's licence with a clean driver's abstract.

Strong verbal and written communication skills.

Successful completion of a criminal record check.

Ability to lift, carry, push, and pull up to 45 lbs.

Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.

Ability to work independently while maintaining high standards of quality and food safety.
