NEW ROLE -- TRAILER YARD SUPERVISOR - DELTA/TILBURY YARD
Having you been driving truck for years and now looking for something a bit less intensive and local? Do you have Valid Class 1 drivers license but not looking to drive full time? Do you have some mechanical abilities and looking for versatile position to use your skills?
We have an integral POSITION that involves a varied workload for overseeing and managing the daily operations of our main trailer yard and working interdependently with our dispatch/operations and maintenance team.
Your core responsibility would entail maintaining the organization of our operating yard in Delta that will be for the storage of flat deck , double drop and chassis trailers both loaded and empty. Alongside this responsibility is the controlling the inventory of company materials such tarps, dunnage, timbers, winter chains and basic sundries for drivers that are kept in our ocean storage containers.
Previous transport experience and having a valid Class 1 license are required for being able to organize the yard and being able to shunt trailers and company trucks to and from our offsite shop as well as assist with varied local movements for clients as required by dispatch.
Knowledge of various flat deck and chassis equipment will be an asset for checking in and checking out trailers including pre-and post-tripping units. Previous forklift and mechanical experience are a definite plus. This position would require the operation of a forklift for shifting deck loads as needed and loading tarps or load bunks or timbers when required. Company will provide certification for Forklift training if required.
