We are seeking an experienced and dependable Carpenter to support the installation, modification, and renovation of modular trailer complexes. This role involves hands-on carpentry work in dynamic environments, including project sites that require setup (mobilization), teardown (demobilization), renovations, and ongoing site maintenance.
This position is to join our team at CNRL Horizon. This is a rotational position working 14 days on, 14 days off, with camp accommodations provided for the duration of your rotation. It's ideal for someone who enjoys travel, problem-solving, and working on unique, fast-paced modular construction projects.
Key Responsibilities
Modular Installation & Demobilization
- Assist in mobilizing and setting up modular trailer complexes
- Perform structural tie-ins, interior finish work, trim, doors, and hardware installation
- Support demobilization and breakdown of modular units for relocation
- Ensure units are level, secure, weather-tight, and fully functional
Renovations & Modifications
- Complete complex interior and exterior renovations
- Frame / paint walls, install drywall, flooring, cabinetry, and finish carpentry components
- Modify layouts and structures according to project specifications
- Perform repairs and upgrades to existing modular buildings
Site Maintenance
- Conduct routine site inspections and maintenance
- Address structural, cosmetic, and functionality issues
- Maintain tools, equipment, and job site cleanliness
- Ensure compliance with safety regulations and building codes
Qualifications
- 2+ years of carpentry experience (modular or commercial construction preferred)
- Ability to read blueprints and follow technical drawings
- Proficient with hand and power tools
- Willingness to travel and work outdoors in varying conditions
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
- Ability to lift 50+ lbs and perform physical labor daily
- Valid driver’s license required
Preferred Experience
- Experience working with modular buildings or portable structures
- Knowledge of framing, finishing, siding, roofing, and flooring installation
- Familiarity with job site safety standards (OSHA training a plus)
- Experience working in team-based installation crews
