Your Role
As our Landscape Construction Foreman, you’ll lead your crew from project start to finish ensuring quality, safety, and efficiency every step of the way. You’ll be the person your team looks to for direction, training, and support, and you’ll help shape the high‑standard commercial work GDB is known for.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and motivate your crew through daily commercial landscape construction tasks
- Manage productivity, workflow, tools, materials, and equipment
- Work closely with the Project Manager to execute project plans
- Complete daily reports, time tracking, and safety documentation
- Maintain and uphold all safety standards for your team
- Mentor and train crew members to help them and your team grow
- Assist with hiring and onboarding new team members
- Perform hands‑on landscape work including grading, planting, and layout
- Operate trucks, trailers, and heavy equipment
- Read and implement landscape construction plans, elevations, and grades
- Identify and resolve issues proactively
- Conduct daily equipment inspections and minor servicing
- Oversee tool and equipment maintenance
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe job site
- Maintain all equipment on a daily basis
Job Requirements
- Multiple years of landscaping experience
- Foreman or leadership experience (preferred)
- Valid Alberta Class 5 driver’s license with clean abstract
- Ability to operate truck and trailer
- Strong communication, organization, and time‑management skills
- Ability to read drawings and specifications
- Solid problem‑solving and decision‑making abilities
- Ability to calculate material quantities for daily tasks
- First Aid, WHMIS, and Construction Safety certifications (asset)
- Travel for out of town work when needed. Approx 1-3 projects per year.

Pay: $30.00-$40.00 per hour
