Gas Technician (G1) – Pool Heaters, Furnaces & Fireplaces
Location: Oakville, ON ; Service GTA
Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced licensed Gas Technician to install, service, and repair underground gas lines and outdoor gas-fired appliances. This role focuses on furnaces, pool heaters, and outdoor fireplaces in residential and light commercial settings.
The ideal candidate is technically skilled, self-motivated, and entrepreneurial, taking ownership of their work and finding practical solutions without taking shortcuts.
Responsibilities
- Install, service, and repair underground natural gas and propane lines.
- Diagnose and repair gas pool heaters, furnaces, and fireplaces.
- Perform pressure testing, leak detection, and system start-ups.
- Ensure all work meets Ontario gas codes and manufacturer specifications.
- Communicate clearly with customers and accurately document completed work.
Requirements
- Valid Ontario G1 or G2 Gas Technician licence.
- Minimum 3 years of hands-on gas installation and service experience.
- Strong diagnostic, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
- Working knowledge of CSA B149.1 gas code requirements.
- Valid Ontario driver’s licence with a clean driving record.
Preferred (Strong Assets)
- Hydronic heating experience
- HVAC experience (313A or 313D)
- Pool industry or heater manufacturer experience
- Propane system experience
- Entrepreneurial, accountable, and customer-focused approach
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $28.00-$38.00 per hour
