Travel Requirement
This role may require travel from the Brampton East base location to other clinic sites, including Oakville, North York, and Rexdale/Malton, depending on operational needs. The successful candidate must be comfortable working at multiple locations and transporting light clinic materials/equipment when needed.
Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced Medical Receptionist / Clinic Secretary to join our team in a role that covers both cardiology and diagnostic imaging operations. This is not a simple front-desk role. We are looking for someone who can help run clinic flow, manage multiple responsibilities at once, support patients properly, and work closely with physicians, technologists, and staff throughout the day.
The ideal candidate must be sincere, responsible, willing to work, able to multitask under pressure, and comfortable in a hands-on medical clinic environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Open and close the clinic independently and responsibly
- Greet patients and visitors in a professional and welcoming manner
- Answer incoming phone calls and respond to patient and clinic inquiries efficiently
- Book, confirm, and coordinate patient appointments
- Prepare daily patient charts, requisitions, and examination-related documents
- Brief patients properly regarding their appointments, tests, and next steps
- Communicate clearly with doctors, technologists, and other staff regarding patient flow and clinic needs
- Obtain and record height, weight, blood pressure, and other basic intake information as required
- Manage electronic medical records and imaging workflow systems
- Help maintain clinic organization, flow, and efficiency throughout the day
- Support physicians, technologists, and staff with administrative and operational tasks
- Perform general clinic upkeep and maintain a clean, organized workspace
- Travel to other clinic locations as needed
- Transport light clinic materials/equipment between sites when required
Requirements
- Previous experience in a medical office is required
- Experience in cardiology, diagnostic imaging, or specialist clinic workflow is strongly preferred
- Experience using PACS systems is preferred
- Experience with Velox, StudyCast, and Accuro EMR is preferred.
- Must be fluent in English
- Must be able to multitask in a fast-paced clinical environment
- Must be comfortable with a hands-on role, not just desk work
- Must be able to communicate effectively with patients, doctors, and staff
- Must be comfortable taking basic patient measurements, including height, weight, and blood pressure
- Must be comfortable working long hours when needed
- Must be willing and able to work at multiple clinic locations
- Must be reliable, organized, and detail-oriented
- Must be a strong team player
- Must be able to work Saturdays & Sundays as required
- Must have reliable transportation to travel between clinic sites
