Overview
East York Piano Studio is looking to hire an At-Home Piano Teacher to join our music education team of 3 teachers. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of Grade 9 RCM Certificate and passionate about teaching piano to the East York community.
Duties
- Provide individualized piano instruction to students, tailoring lessons to meet their unique needs and learning styles.
- Develop lesson plans that incorporate various teaching methods, ensuring a comprehensive understanding of music theory, technique, and performance.
- Foster a positive learning atmosphere that encourages creativity and self-expression among students.
- Assess student progress regularly and provide constructive feedback to support their musical development.
- Organize recitals or performances to showcase student achievements and build confidence in their abilities.
- Collaborate with parents or guardians to discuss student progress and address any concerns related to their learning experience.
- Stay updated on the latest teaching techniques and educational resources in the field of music education.
Requirements
- Minimum of Grade 9 RCM Piano Certificate achieved.
- Proven experience in tutoring or teaching music, particularly piano, is preferred.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to engage and motivate students effectively.
- Detail-oriented and professional - arrives to lessons/meetings on time, maintains schedule and sends invoices in a timely manner, and follows-up with parents' messages within 24 hours.
- Ability to commute to students' homes to conduct piano lessons.
- Have a reliable mode of commuting to students' homes
- Patience, creativity, and enthusiasm for teaching music are essential qualities for this role.
