DZ/Slinger Driver
Henderson Construction is seeking a reliable, safety-focused, and experienced DZ Driver with experience in a Slinger to join our growing team. The successful candidate will be responsible for the safe transportation and placement of construction materials using a slinger truck at residential, commercial, and civil construction sites.
This position requires an individual who is committed to safety, provides excellent customer service, and takes pride in delivering quality work while representing the company professionally.
Responsibilities/Duties:
· Operate a DZ slinger truck safely and efficiently to deliver and place aggregates, sand, soil, stone, and other construction materials.
· Conduct daily circle checks and inspections of vehicles and equipment to ensure safe operation and compliance.
· Load, transport, and unload materials according to customer specifications and site requirements.
· Operate dump truck, water truck and roll off as needed
· Communicate effectively with dispatch, site supervisors, customers, and team members.
· Maintain accurate delivery records, inspection reports, and logbooks.
· Ensure all loads are properly secured and transported in accordance with Ministry of Transportation regulations.
· Perform routine maintenance checks and promptly report mechanical issues or safety concerns.
· Operate equipment safely in a variety of construction site conditions.
· Assist with general labour duties as required.
· Maintain a clean and professional appearance of company vehicles and equipment.
· Follow all company policies, safety procedures, and Occupational Health & Safety regulations.
· Provide exceptional customer service while representing the company on job sites
Preferred skills and qualifications
· Valid Ontario DZ Driver's Licence with a clean driver's abstract.
· Previous experience operating a slinger truck is preferred.
· Experience delivering aggregates and construction materials is considered an asset.
· Knowledge of construction sites, materials, and safe loading/unloading practices.
· Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
· Strong communication and customer service skills.
· Ability to read site instructions and follow delivery requirements accurately.
· Strong commitment to workplace safety.
· Reliable, punctual, and professional attitude.
· Experience operating heavy equipment is considered an asset.
· Ability to work flexible hours and overtime as required.
Work Conditions & Physical Demands
· Outdoor work in various weather conditions.
· Frequent travel to construction sites throughout the region.
· Early mornings and overtime as required.
· Ability to climb in and out of heavy equipment safely.
· Ability to lift or move up to 50 lbs when required.
· Working around heavy equipment, moving vehicles, and active construction sites.
· Physically demanding environment requiring attention to safety and surroundings.
