Job Title: Automotive Detailer & Operations Assistant
Location: Cranbrook, BC | Start Date: August 1st
Compensation: $22.50/hr + clear path for performance raises
Hours: Full-Time (Mon–Fri, 9–5) + potential for overtime
The Opportunity
Work directly with the owner of two growing local businesses: R’n’D Rentals (truck rentals) and Foam Fiend Car Care (premium detailing). This is a dual role for someone who likes variety—one hour you might be helping change oil or swap tires, the next you’re performing a high-end interior restoration.
We are looking for a professional who takes pride in "the finish." No previous experience is required; we will train you on everything from paint correction to fleet management. However, we have a very high bar for work ethic.
Our Non-Negotiables (Please Read Carefully)
We run a high-focus, high-standard shop. We are able to compensate high performers well, and offer opportunity for advancement - this isn't a dead-end detail job. To be successful here, you must meet these criteria:
- Non-Smoker: A core part of our business is odor remediation. If you smoke, you cannot accurately detect the odors we are paid to remove.
- Zero Phone Distraction: We have a strict "no phones on the floor" policy. We need your focus on the task at hand, not on your screen.
- Self-Starter/Drive: When there is downtime, you don’t wait for instructions. You find a way to improve the shop—whether that’s organizing tools or prepping for the next day.
- Reliability & Flexibility: We generally work 9–5, but the automotive world is unpredictable. You must be willing to stay late to finish a job when the workload demands it.
- Valid Driver’s License: You will be moving and delivering vehicles daily.
What You’ll Do
- Precision Detailing: Interior/exterior cleaning, vacuuming, and eventually advanced techniques like ceramic coatings and mold remediation.
- Operations Support: Greet customers, assist with vehicle pick-ups/drop-offs, process payments.
- Fleet Maintenance: Assist in performing quality checks on rental trucks to ensure they are client-ready.
- Shop Stewardship: Keep the workshop organized and professional.
Why Join Us?
You’ll be mentored by an owner with a background in Environmental Engineering who applies analytical problem-solving to business. This isn’t just a "car wash" job; it’s an opportunity to learn the mechanics of running a successful operation. We offer stable work, on-the-job training, and a friendly, supportive environment for someone who is genuinely driven.
