Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate individual to join our team as a GFS (General Facilitator Specialist). This role involves working closely with children and individuals with disabilities, providing educational support, and fostering a positive learning environment. The ideal candidate will possess strong communication skills, organizational abilities, and experience in early childhood education or special education. Bilingual proficiency in English and French is highly desirable. This position offers an opportunity to make a meaningful impact while developing professional skills in a supportive setting.
Responsibilities
- Plan and implement engaging activities tailored to the developmental needs of children and individuals with disabilities
- Support classroom management and assist with daily routines to ensure a safe, inclusive, and nurturing environment
- Communicate effectively with children, parents, and team members to promote understanding and collaboration
- Utilize computer skills for documentation, lesson planning, and progress tracking
- Maintain organized records of activities, attendance, and individual progress
- Collaborate with educators, therapists, and other staff to develop individualized plans for participants
- Lead by example in demonstrating leadership qualities and fostering positive interactions within the classroom or activity setting
- Adapt teaching methods to accommodate diverse learning styles and needs
- Ensure compliance with safety protocols and organizational policies
Requirements
- Proficiency in English; bilingual skills in French are highly preferred
- Experience working with children or individuals with disabilities in educational or childcare settings
- Knowledge of early childhood education principles and special education strategies
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written
- Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage time effectively
- Computer literacy, including basic computer operation, documentation software, and educational tools
- Classroom experience or related teaching background is advantageous
- Demonstrated leadership abilities and the capacity to work collaboratively within a team
- Ability to adapt quickly to changing needs and maintain a positive attitude
- Commitment to creating an inclusive environment that supports diverse learners
