Carrier Sales & Dispatch Representative
EWP Carrier Ltd. | Surrey, BC | Full-time, Hybrid
East West Pacific Carrier Ltd. is growing its freight lanes between the Lower Mainland and the Pacific Northwest, and we need someone who can both bring in the freight and make sure it moves. This role combines carrier sales with hands-on dispatch — you'll build the customer relationships that keep our trucks booked, then dispatch the drivers who deliver on them.
About EWP Carrier Ltd.
We're a trucking and logistics company based in Surrey, BC, running freight south from Vancouver through Washington and Oregon (as far as Medford) and back on the return haul. We're a lean, owner-operated business — the person in this seat has direct, visible influence on which lanes we run, which customers we serve, and how efficiently our trucks move.
About the Role
Twelve months in, you'll have built a working book of shipper and broker relationships along our core BC–WA/OR corridor, be actively developing freight into Alberta, and be running day-to-day dispatch with minimal oversight — balancing new business development with keeping trucks loaded and drivers moving on schedule.
What You'll Do
- Prospect and build relationships with shippers, brokers, and freight forwarders to secure new contracts along our BC–WA/OR corridor, with an eye toward expanding into Alberta
- Negotiate rates and contract terms that protect margin while keeping trucks moving
- Dispatch drivers on booked loads — matching trucks to freight, planning routes, and keeping drivers on schedule
- Track loads in transit, troubleshoot delays, and keep customers updated on status
- Own the full cycle from booking a load through delivery and paperwork close-out
- Identify new lanes and backhaul opportunities to keep the fleet loaded in both directions
What We're Looking For Required
- 2+ years of experience in trucking, freight brokerage, or logistics — in sales, dispatch, or both
- Comfortable working the phone and building relationships with shippers and brokers
- Strong organizational skills; able to juggle sales calls and live dispatch decisions in the same day
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation
Preferred
- Working knowledge of BC–Alberta and BC–Washington/Oregon freight lanes
- Existing relationships with shippers or brokers along the I-5 corridor
- Familiarity with dispatch or TMS software
Compensation
Base salary plus commission on contracts secured. Specific figures to be discussed based on experience.
Pay: $18.25-$35.08 per hour
Benefits:
