Family Preservation and Reunification Worker
Wage: $60,000 - $75,000 Annual Salary, dependent upon education and experience

Hours: Full-Time, with a rotation of one week in the community and one week Prince George (Flexibility required to accommodate member needs, and may include evenings and weekends)

Responsibilities
Reporting to the Manager of Social Services, the Family Preservation and Reunification Worker will ensure that families and the community members receive support services that meet their individual or familial needs. The Family Preservation and Reunification Worker will provide interventions or referrals to supports for employment, mental health, addictions, and other needs to enrich and strengthen family units.
- Provide individuals and families with appropriate support services or referrals to support services
- Coordinate counseling, crisis intervention, and integrated case management activities with agencies
- Help families gain skills and competencies to solve current and future issues and protect children
- Conduct and complete detailed assessments or integrated case management meetings based on need
- Provide interventions and therapeutic support and other support needs
- Keep running notes/records of all contact with clients, support referrals, and/or other contacts
- Plan, implement, and oversee programs within available funding and in compliance with legislation
- Help families gain skills and competencies to solve current and future issues and protect children
- Collaborate with the Elders program to integrate Kwadacha culture and traditional teachings
- Facilitate workshops, training sessions, and support groups on relevant topics (e.g. Positive parenting, etc.)
- Provide updates and consult with supervisor regarding children in care and families at risk
- Other duties and responsibilities as assigned
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in a social services or health and wellness - related field, or an equivalent combination of education and relevant experience
- Knowledge of Ministry of Child and Family Development protocols within the Canadian judicial systems
- Must be able to obtain and maintain Criminal Record Check and Vulnerable Sector Search
- Valid Class 5 BC Driver’s License, clear Driver’s Abstract, and willingness to travel within Kwadacha
