Work description
- Deployments to BC on 14-day rotations
- Living in tent camps and working long hours in demanding wilderness conditions
- Competitive pay based on role - $25 to $35 an hour with overtime
Experience requirements
- Prior wildland firefighting experience is required - this is not an entry-level posting
- Between 17 and 50 fire line days of wildland fire experience within the last 3 years, depending on the role and crew type (one fire line day = 12 hours)
- Fire department experience does not count toward this requirement - wildland fire hours only
Additional requirements
- Must be 19 or older (BC age of majority, per BCWS requirements)
- Physical and mental toughness
- Availability for 14-day deployments throughout the summer
- Reliable transportation to fire base in Dawson Creek, BC
- A team-first attitude
