VIH Aerospace (VIHA), a global leader in Helicopter Manufacturing, Maintenance, Repair & Overhaul (MMRO) is looking to expand our Avionics Department by hiring an Avionics AME-E.
WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR:
VIHA is looking for a team-focused person to join our Avionics Department. Reporting to the Avionics Supervisor, the ideal candidate will be expected to perform all aircraft maintenance duties related to aircraft installation, adjustment, repair and overhaul of aircraft instruments, electrical and avionics systems while adhering to all technical publications including Transport Canada requirements.
This is a full-time position based at the VIH Aerospace facility in Sidney, BC, Canada.
Relocation services are not included in this opportunity.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Installing and testing complex aircraft avionics equipment and electrical systems.
- Removing, repairing, and re-installing problematic avionics equipment.
- Performing intricate and highly reliable soldering on components for navigation and communication.
- Assemble and install electrical components.
- Providing accurate diagnoses of difficult avionics problems.
- Complete any company-directed training and successfully pass any associated examinations and tests.
- Work productively within a multi-discipline team environment.
- Accept and complete job assignments within his/her skill designation.
- Maintain accurate logbook entries of work performed.
- Address all defects as per VIHAs MPM, and Quality Assurance Program.
- Develop increased personal productivity, within his/her skill group, through practical experience, training, and education.
- Accept and complete any other assigned work as necessary.
REQUIREMENTS and QUALIFICATIONS:
- Completion of Secondary School and attendance of a recognized Training Program resulting in an AME license Cat E.
- Previous work experience with aircraft electrical repair and with specific aircraft maintenance and repair manuals.
- Strong working knowledge of aviation safety practices and technology.
- An understanding of other aircraft systems, such as hydraulics and flight control.
- Ability to plan and design complex integrated avionics installations.
- The ability to read and interpret blueprints and schematics.
- Excellent analytical, attention-to-detail, troubleshooting, problem-solving, communication, and teamwork skills.
- The ability to work away from base, sometimes on short notice.
- Possess a valid drivers license and good drivers abstract.
- Steady hands and excellent eyesight.
