The Opportunity
FDT is expanding its footprint across Europe and is seeking a driven, commercially minded Sales Manager to lead this growth. You will be the face of FDT on the continent — building relationships with key stakeholders, closing meaningful deals, and contributing directly to the company's European expansion strategy. This is a high-visibility role with direct impact on revenue and market presence.
What You Will Sell
- Wireless Quick Access Recorder (QAR) Solutions — EASA-compliant, certified for European operators
- XpressA Dynamic Maintenance Platform — real-time maintenance optimisation
- Predictive Maintenance & Advanced Analytics — data-driven decision support for airlines and MROs
Key Responsibilities
▸ Drive new business across European airlines, charter operators, and business aviation
▸ Manage and convert inbound leads generated via marketing and trade events
▸ Build and maintain long-term relationships with operators and MROs
▸ Represent FDT at MRO and avionics conferences and trade shows (e.g. MRO Europe, MRO Americas, Avionics Europe, Aircraft Airworthiness & Maintenance)
▸ Deliver tailored product demonstrations and solution presentations
▸ Collaborate with the technical team to address customer and regulatory requirements
▸ Prepare commercial proposals, negotiate contracts, and close deals
▸ Consistently meet and exceed quarterly and annual sales targets
Candidate Profile
Required
- Technical background, avionics is preferable
- Proven B2B sales experience in aviation, aerospace, or related technical industries
- Strong commercial acumen with a track record of lead generation and deal closure
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills in English
- Comfortable with regular travel across Europe for client meetings and industry events
- Self-motivated and able to work autonomously across multiple time zones
Advantageous
- Familiarity with European aviation regulations (EASA, EU-OPS) and airline operations
- Existing network among European air operators, MROs, or aviation authorities
- Understanding of aircraft maintenance environments and data-driven operational tools
- French proficiency is highly desired, given the Montréal base and Francophone European markets (France, Belgium, Switzerland)
- Additional European language proficiency (German, Spanish, Italian, Dutch, etc.) is a plus
