Summary
We are seeking an experienced and motivated Installation Technical Supervisor to lead our installation team. This is an excellent opportunity for a licensed HVAC professional who is passionate about mentoring others, improving installation quality, and ensuring industry best practices are followed.
Position Summary
The Installation Technical Supervisor will provide technical leadership and day-to-day support to the installation team. This role is responsible for maintaining high installation standards, mentoring technicians, assisting with technical training, developing installation procedures, and ensuring compliance with company policies, manufacturer specifications, and applicable codes.
Responsibilities
- Provide technical leadership and support to HVAC installation crews.
- Coach, mentor, and develop installers and apprentices.
- Ensure all installations meet company quality standards, manufacturer specifications, and applicable codes.
- Conduct job site visits and quality inspections.
- Troubleshoot complex installation issues and provide technical solutions.
- Develop, review, and maintain installation procedures, technical manuals, and best practice documentation.
- Assist in creating and delivering technical training programs.
- Promote and enforce a strong safety culture throughout the installation department.
- Work closely with the Operations Manager, Service Department, Sales Team, and Warehouse to improve workflow and customer satisfaction.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives and process development.
- Assist with scheduling priorities and provide technical guidance on challenging installation projects.
Qualifications
Required
- Minimum G2 Gas Technician Licence.
- Valid 313D Residential Air Conditioning Systems Mechanic Licence.
- Several years of residential HVAC installation experience.
- Demonstrated leadership or supervisory experience within an HVAC installation environment.
- Strong knowledge of:
- Furnaces
- Air conditioners
- Heat pumps
- Water heaters
- Ductwork and ventilation systems
- Ontario Building Code and applicable gas codes
- Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to prepare technical documents, installation standards, and training materials.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- Valid Ontario Class G Driver's Licence with an acceptable driving record.
Preferred Assets
- 313A Refrigeration and Air Conditioning Systems Mechanic Licence.
- ODP Certification.
- Working at Heights and WHMIS certifications.
- Experience with HVAC quality assurance and field audits.
- Experience training apprentices and developing technical staff.
Pay: $90,000.00-$95,000.00 per year
