Job Overview
We are currently seeking an experienced Heavy Duty Mechanic – Working Shop Lead to join our team. This is a hands-on leadership role in a fast-paced shop environment. The successful candidate will be on the tools daily while also leading and coordinating shop operations.
Responsibilities
- Perform diagnostics, repairs, and maintenance on heavy-duty equipment
- Lead and support mechanics and apprentices on the shop floor
- Assign and prioritize work orders to maintain workflow and minimize downtime
- Assist with complex repairs and troubleshooting
- Ensure quality control, safety compliance, and shop standards are met
- Coordinate with management on job status, parts, and scheduling
Qualifications
- Journeyman Heavy Duty Mechanic (Red Seal preferred)
- Valid CVIP License (Truck & Trailer)
- Strong diagnostic and mechanical skills
- Ability to understand and effectively use computer equipment including computers for diagnostics Must be able to work in a high pressure environment safely
- Previous lead hand or supervisory experience preferred
- Proven ability to work on the tools while leading a team
- Strong communication and organizational skills
