Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Early Childhood Educator Infant Toddler (ECEIT) to join our team. This role involves nurturing and educating infants and toddlers in a safe, engaging, and developmentally appropriate environment. The ideal candidate will have a passion for early childhood education, strong communication skills, and experience working with young children, including those with special needs or disabilities. Bilingual abilities in English and French are highly valued to support diverse family backgrounds. Responsibilities
- Develop and implement age-appropriate educational activities that promote learning and development for infants and toddlers
- Provide a safe, caring, and stimulating environment that meets the individual needs of each child
- Observe and document children's progress, behaviors, and developmental milestones
- Communicate effectively with parents and guardians regarding children's progress, daily activities, and any concerns
- Collaborate with team members to plan curriculum and classroom activities that support early childhood development
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the classroom to ensure health and safety standards are met
- Support children with special needs or disabilities by adapting activities and providing individualized care as needed
- Utilize computer skills for record keeping, lesson planning, and communication purposes
- Demonstrate leadership in guiding new staff or interns when necessary
- Manage time efficiently to balance classroom responsibilities with administrative tasks
Skills
- Proficiency in English; bilingual skills in French are highly desirable
- Strong childcare experience, particularly working with infants and toddlers
- Knowledge of early childhood education principles and best practices
- Experience working with children with disabilities or special needs is a plus
- Excellent communication skills for engaging with children, parents, and team members
- Organizational skills to manage classroom activities, documentation, and schedules effectively
- Computer literacy including basic computer operation for record keeping and lesson planning
- Classroom experience demonstrating the ability to create an engaging learning environment
- Time management skills to handle multiple responsibilities efficiently
- Leadership qualities to guide team members or interns when necessary
- Writing skills for documentation and parent communication
