Ideal Candidate
Our rigorous and challenging General Studies program adheres to the standards set out by the Ontario Ministry of Education. We are seeking knowledgeable and creative educators who possess the ability to:
- plan and deliver engaging lessons to students with various learning styles
- cultivate a positive classroom culture and learning environment
- implement effective classroom management as well as structure and routine
- communicate effectively with students, colleagues and parents
- nurture the social, emotional and academic skills of their students
- use logic and reasoning to appropriately handle problems that arise
- employ understanding and sensitivity towards Jewish values and religion
Candidates should possess the following qualifications:
- OCT Certification (or a comparable certification from another jurisdiction)
- Competence with Google Education Suites (Google Classroom, slides, docs, etc.)

We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Grade 5 General Studies Teacher to join our educational team for morning classes. The ideal candidate will be passionate about fostering a positive learning environment and supporting the academic and social development of elementary students. This part-time teaching position offers an opportunity to work with diverse learners, including those with special needs, in a dynamic school setting. Candidates should possess strong communication skills, classroom management abilities, and a commitment to student success.
Responsibilities
- Develop and implement engaging lesson plans aligned with curriculum standards for Grade 5 students in subjects such as English, Math, and General Studies
- Create a supportive classroom environment that encourages student participation and fosters positive behavior
- Assess student progress through assignments, tests, and observations; provide timely feedback to students and parents
- Adapt teaching methods to accommodate students with disabilities or special educational needs, including early childhood education strategies
- Integrate technology and the google suite to enhance instructional delivery and student engagement
- Collaborate with colleagues to plan interdisciplinary activities and school events
- Maintain accurate records of attendance, grades, and behavioral reports
- Communicate effectively with parents regarding student progress and classroom activities
- Support tutoring sessions or additional instructional support as needed
Experience
- Prior classroom experience teaching elementary or middle school students is preferred
- Experience working with children with disabilities or in special education settings is advantageous
- Demonstrated proficiency in computer skills, including the google suite applications, for lesson planning and communication
- Proven organizational skills and time management to handle multiple responsibilities efficiently
- Familiarity with early childhood education principles and working with individuals with disabilities will be considered a plus
- Effective communication skills essential for engaging students, parents, and staff in a collaborative educational environment
Pay: $40,000.00-$45,000.00 per year
