About the Opportunity
Northwest Tidal is looking for a motivated Labourer & Rigging/Splicing Trainee to join our crew of skilled mooring and rigging technicians. You’ll work in a hands-on, fast-paced environment producing top-quality mooring and lifting assemblies for a variety of marine and industrial applications.

What You’ll Do
· Operate shop tools & equipment (winders, coilers, tensioners, cutters)
· Assist in prepping and packing mooring and lifting assemblies for shipping
· Receive, store, and organize materials
· Operate forklifts, pallet jacks, and other shop machinery
· Help maintain tools and equipment
· Keep the workspace clean and safe
· Learn to splice synthetic fiber ropes (UHMWPE, polyester, nylon, etc.)
· Inspect and fabricate splices: eye, long, tuck, and specialty terminations
Minimum Qualifications
· Basic math skills (measurement & calculation)
· High school diploma or equivalent (preferred)
· Ability to lift and handle heavy materials
· Reliable, detail-oriented, and eager to learn
Preferred Skills (Not Required, But a Plus!)
· Experience with synthetic rope splicing (3-strand, 8-strand, double braid)
· Experience and proficiency with forklift operation
· Background in marine, mooring, or industrial work
· Mechanical aptitude or previous shop experience
· Certifications in rigging, rope inspection, or splicing
