Shamrock Mechanical is seeking a full-time Estimator. Shamrock is a family owned, well-established Sheet Metal & HVAC Company with over 16 years’ experience completing mainly commercial, industrial, institutional, and agricultural work. In this role, you will be responsible for creating competitive estimates for bid work. Some duties and responsibilities include:
- Performing HVAC take-offs from architectural and mechanical drawings
- Using Shamrock’s formulation to determine total labour and material costs
- Attending site visits and walk throughs to determine the scope of the project
- Submitting and receiving bid requests
- Sourcing bid requests / work that meets Shamrock’s scope of duties
- Reviewing current project timelines, labour needs, and estimating jobs accordingly
- Assisting with the transition between estimating to project management
- Supporting the President and Project Manager with additional tasks, as requested
To be successful in this role, the applicant should have:
- valid Ontario drivers’ licence
- ability to read and understand construction drawings
- ability to work independently with minimum direction
- effective communicator
- attention to detail
- awareness of time sensitive tasks
- basic computer skills (Microsoft Office – Word, Excel, Outlook, OneDrive)
As this is a new position, compensation is negotiable and will be determined based on skill set and experience. Junior and Senior applicants are encouraged!
