Orchard Design is seeking a full time Architectural Technician or Technologist in our established and growing company located in Cambridge. With projects all over Ontario ranging from home renovations, single family houses, townhouses and stacked townhouses, apartment buildings, mixed use buildings as well as commercial projects.
This is an in office position at our Cambridge location.
What we require:
- Minimum College diploma in Architectural Technician, Technology or equivalent
- Junior drafting technician - 1 to 3 years work experience
- Intermediate drafting technician - 3 to 10 years work experience
- Proficiency in AutoCAD and Revit required
- Sketch-up experience considered an asset
- Knowledge in Microsoft Office
- Strong written and verbal / reading skills are mandatory
- Strong understanding of residential building construction methods
- Sound knowledge of the Ontario Building Code
- Ability to research municipal zoning bylaws for specific projects
Duties Include:
- Produce working drawings including site plans, site plan approval submissions and permit drawings
- Review working drawings prepared by others
- Site measuring of existing homes and commercial spaces
- Liaise with consultants and trades at times
- Able to work independently in a fast-paced environment
Job Types: Full-time, Permanent
Pay: $40,000.00-$60,000.00 per year
