Job Overview:
We are seeking a Manitoba licensed Journeyperson Electrician. The successful candidate will be responsible for installing, maintaining, and repairing electrical systems and equipment in accordance with Manitoba electrical codes and regulations. Key duties include troubleshooting and diagnosing electrical issues and implementing effective solutions.
Key responsibilities:
- Read and interpret electrical blueprints, schematics and diagrams to determine the layout of electrical systems.
- Troubleshoot and diagnose electrical problems and provide effective solutions.
- Conduct quality control checks to ensure that all work is completed to a high standard.
- Maintain accurate records of all work completed, including time sheets, invoices and project reports.
- Collaborate with other trades to ensure that all necessary materials and equipment are available for each project.
- Install, maintain and repair electrical systems and equipment in compliance with electrical codes and regulations in Manitoba.
Specific job duties include:
- Install electrical wiring, conduit and fixtures.
- Test electrical systems and continuity of circuits in electrical wiring, equipment and fixtures.
- Use a variety of hand and power tools, such as wire stripper and pliers to work on electrical systems.
- Install and maintain lighting and control systems.
- Connect wires to circuit breakers, transformers or other components.
- Inspect electrical systems and equipment for any damage defects or malfunctions.
- Diagnose and repair malfunctioning electrical systems and equipment.
- Replace or repair damaged electrical components.
- Prepare cost estimates for electrical projects.
- Other duties as assigned by management.
Requirements:
- Manitoba Journeyman Electrical Red Seal Certification.
- Valid Class 5 drivers license.
- Reliable transportation.
- Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills.
- Solid understanding of electrical systems and codes in Manitoba.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics and diagrams.
- Ability to work well under pressure and meet project deadlines.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to provide leadership when required.
