This is an in-person position located in Fort Frances / Atikokan, Ontario. The successful candidate must either reside in or be willing to relocate to one of these two communities.
Overview
We are seeking a dedicated Child Welfare Supervisor - Protection to lead and oversee child protection services within our organization. This role involves managing teams, ensuring compliance with regulations, and implementing programs that safeguard vulnerable children. Responsibilities
- Supervise and support caseworkers and staff involved in child protection services, ensuring high-quality service delivery.
- Develop, implement, and evaluate child welfare programs aligned with organizational goals and regulatory standards.
- Oversee case management processes, including investigations, safety planning, and service coordination.
- Manage administrative functions such as record keeping, reporting, and compliance documentation.
- Monitor program budgets, allocate resources effectively, and ensure adherence to financial policies.
- Conduct staff training, performance evaluations, and provide ongoing professional development opportunities.
- Collaborate with community partners, agencies, and stakeholders to enhance child protection efforts.
- Ensure organizational adherence to all relevant laws, policies, and ethical standards related to child welfare.
Experience
- Proven supervisory experience in child welfare or related social services fields.
- Demonstrated experience in program management with a focus on child protection initiatives.
- Strong administrative skills including record keeping, report writing, and compliance monitoring.
- Experience in budgeting and resource allocation within a social services context is preferred.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to lead teams effectively and engage with community partners.
Required:
- Master’s Degree in Social Work or related field is preferred with five (5) years of experience in a Child Welfare setting. Bachelor’s degree is the minimum requirement.
- Ability to travel and occasionally work flexible hours.
- Must possess a valid Ontario Driver’s License and have access to a reliable vehicle with an OPCF6A Insurance endorsement and minimum of $1,000,000 Liability insurance.
- Satisfactory Vulnerable Sector Check, internal records check, and Driver’s Abstract.
Pay: $83,445.00-$117,483.00 per year
