In this role, we have made our name supplying & installing Millwork, Cabinetry & Casegoods that meet the requirements of each brand’s standards. We set ourselves apart from the pack by working from the brand prototypes first, and then adapting this knowledge to each new project that comes across our table.
General Scope:
The Architectural Millwork Drafter plans, directs, coordinates and controls activities of custom designed manufacturing projects to ensure that goals and objectives are accomplished within prescribed time frame and cost parameters.
Functional Responsibilities:
· Create shop drawings in line with design aesthetics and JSI standards, within established budgets.
· Render 2D or 3D modeling and paper to CAD conversion
· Prepare drawings for approval
· Adjust production drawings to the satisfaction of the client
· Assist Project Managers, Logistics and Sales departments in implementing site layout drawings and by providing accurate drawings
· Search for hardware in accordance to client specs
· May be responsible for reviewing junior drafters work/output
· Other related tasks as identified and directed by the department manager
Qualifications & Skills:
- College Degree in Commercial/Industrial Drafting
- 5 to 8 years of experience in architectural millwork (woodwork) drafting
- Experience in drafting architectural millwork structures is a must
- Excellent ability to read architectural plans
- Ability and ease in reading specifications and quotes
- The drafter must be a problem solver with experience as a millwork engineer
- Knowledge of materials (wood, plastics, metal, glass) including hardware and how they are processed in production
- Team work and excellent communication skills
- Advanced knowledge of AutoCad, Excel
- Knowledge of Inventor (an asset)
- Bilingualism with advanced English
