The HR Payroll Business Partner plays a dual role, acting as both a strategic HR partner and a payroll subject matter expert supporting. This position is responsible for ensuring the accurate and compliant administration of payroll while partnering with business leaders to support employee relations, performance management, workforce planning, and organizational effectiveness.

What You Will Do
Human Resources Business Partner Responsibilities:
- Partner with division leaders to provide coaching, guidance, and day-to-day HR support.
- Support performance management processes, including goal setting, coaching, development planning, and accountability.
- Address employee concerns, workplace conflicts, and policy-related issues with professionalism and discretion.
- Conduct investigations and recommend fair, consistent, and compliant resolutions.
- Assist with organizational planning, workforce initiatives, job design, and talent development programs.
- Partner with the Total Rewards team to manage and support employee benefits programs for Canadian employees.
- Collaborate with HR leadership on change management and organizational effectiveness efforts.
Payroll Responsibilities:
- Manage full-cycle payroll processing, ensuring accurate and timely payment of wages, bonuses, commissions, deductions, and benefits.
- Review and validate payroll data to ensure accuracy and compliance with company policies and applicable laws.
- Manage quarterly and year end payroll reporting, including, but not limited to T-4s, RL-1, Worker’s comp reporting, etc.
- Serve as a primary point of contact for payroll-related questions and concerns.
- Research and resolve payroll discrepancies in a timely and professional manner.
- Maintain payroll records and documentation in accordance with federal, state, and local regulations.
- Ensure compliance with wage and hour laws, payroll tax requirements, garnishments, and other regulatory obligations.
- Monitor legislative changes impacting payroll practices.
- Perform payroll audits, reconciliations, and reporting activities.
- Support internal and external audits, including payroll tax audits and compliance reviews.
- Generate and analyze payroll reports for leadership and business partners.
What You Will Need
- Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Finance, Accounting, or related field preferred.
- 5+ years of progressive experience in Human Resources, Payroll, or a related field.
- Experience processing full-cycle payroll.
- Experience supporting employee relations and performance management activities.
- Strong knowledge of federal, state, and local employment and payroll regulations.
- Multi-province payroll experience.
- Experience with UKG Pro/WFM, ADP Workforce Now, or similar HRIS and payroll platforms.
- SHRM-CP or SHRM-SCP, PHR/SPHR or Certified Payroll Professional (CPP) preferred
