The Opportunity
Join a collaborative Delegated Underwriting Authority (DUA) team where accuracy, insight, and operational excellence matter. As a Program Underwriting Assistant, you will manage core bordereaux activities across our binder management and policy administration platforms, including processing, validation, analysis, reconciliation, and reporting. Your work will help maintain data quality, resolve reporting and premium-related issues, and identify opportunities to streamline how work gets done. What You Will Be Doing
Bordereaux Report Processing & Data Management

Map, review, process, and upload bordereaux reports for DUA programs, ensuring accurate data handling and successful system processing.
Data Quality Control & Validation

Validate data integrity, identify discrepancies, and escalate data issues to underwriting, MGAs, and brokers as needed.

Suggest reporting enhancements that strengthen data accuracy, consistency, and efficiency.
Data Analysis & Reporting Support

Analyze bordereaux data to identify trends, inconsistencies, and insights that support reporting, dashboards, and continuous improvement efforts.
Premium Processing & Reconciliation

Process bordereaux premium transactions through automated uploads and manual entry, reconciling variances across bordereaux data, financial records, and system outputs.

Investigate and resolve premium discrepancies in collaboration with the Finance team.
Stakeholder Support & Issue Resolution

Act as a key contact for bordereaux-related inquiries, working with internal teams and external partners to resolve data, reporting, and processing issues.

Support DUA initiatives, special projects, and workflow enhancements.
Who You Are
You are organized, detail-oriented, and analytical, with a strong interest in data and continuous improvement. You are comfortable working with complex datasets and systems, take a proactive approach to problem-solving, and can balance independent, detail-focused work with effective collaboration across a team.
What You Bring

A university degree or college diploma, plus 2+ years of relevant experience in property and casualty insurance, reinsurance, and/or bordereaux processing.

Strong analytical, numeracy, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to organize, interpret, and summarize large datasets accurately using Excel.

Proficiency in Microsoft 365, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams, and Outlook, with advanced confidence in Excel.

Excellent attention to detail, organizational skills, and the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.

A self-motivated, solutions-focused approach, with the ability to work independently, collaborate effectively, and build strong relationships across teams.

An interest in identifying opportunities to strengthen operational efficiency, accuracy, consistency, and team effectiveness.

Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English; French language skills are considered an asset.

The anticipated base salary range for this position is (55,000-63,000). Compensation may vary for roles in other regions to reflect local market conditions and currency differences. At Tokio Marine Canada, our salary ranges are designed to reflect the skills, experience, and responsibilities required for each role while providing room for growth. For experienced professionals, offers are typically positioned near the midpoint of the range. The upper end of the range is reserved for individuals who consistently deliver exceptional performance and impact. Candidates who are newer to the role may start below the midpoint, with opportunities to progress as they develop. Final offer decisions take into account factors such as location, relevant experience, and individual skill set.

We work in a hybrid model, and you should expect to split your time between working in the office and working remotely, with flexibility based on the role and the business needs. We currently have an office in downtown Toronto and will eventually be establishing offices in other provinces. Should you currently work in a province where we do not have an office, you will remain remote until such time as we do establish an office.
