OVERVIEW
We are seeking an experienced Desktop Support Analyst with a strong background in Capital Markets, Middle Office Operations, and Trade Support to support daily operational activities within a high-performing Global Trading Solutions environment. The successful candidate will work closely with trading, operations, technology, and business stakeholders to ensure timely and accurate trade capture, booking, reconciliation, and downstream settlement support.
This role is ideal for a proactive, detail-oriented professional who thrives in fast-paced trading environments and has experience supporting operational processes, transaction management, risk controls, and stakeholder communications within financial services.
Location: Toronto, ON (Hybrid – 5 days onsite during training, subject to change)
Contract Length: Until June 30, 2027
Hours: 9 AM–5 PM EST (subject to change)
Pay: T4: $42 / IC: $48
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Provide operational support for securities and trade transaction processing to ensure accurate trade capture and downstream settlement.
- Support daily middle office activities including trade booking, reconciliation, exception management, and issue resolution.
- Work closely with trading desks, operations teams, technology partners, and stakeholders to support new trade strategies and operational initiatives.
- Monitor transactional workflows, identify discrepancies, and resolve operational issues in accordance with established controls and procedures.
- Analyze operational data and provide insights, reporting, and recommendations to improve business processes and operational efficiency.
- Develop and maintain operational documentation, process flows, dashboards, and reporting tools.
- Participate in process improvement initiatives, system enhancements, testing activities, and implementation of revised workflows or controls.
- Support governance, risk management, and regulatory compliance activities related to trade operations and transaction processing.
- Provide guidance and support to internal business partners and external stakeholders regarding operational inquiries and issue resolution.
- Assist with workflow coordination, scheduling, prioritization, and operational support activities within the team environment.
- Participate in change management initiatives including communication planning, stakeholder coordination, readiness activities, and training support.
- Act as backup support for team members and provide operational coverage where required.
- Maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders to support service delivery expectations and operational objectives.
- Ensure all activities are executed in accordance with established SLAs, regulatory requirements, operational policies, and risk management frameworks.
QUALIFICATIONS
- 5+ years of progressive experience in Capital Markets Operations, Middle Office, Trade Support, or Securities Operations.
- Strong understanding of trade lifecycle management, trade booking, settlement processes, and operational controls.
- Experience working within financial institutions supporting trading operations and transaction management functions.
- Strong knowledge of operational risk, governance, compliance, and regulatory requirements within capital markets environments.
- Demonstrated experience supporting operational processes in fast-paced, high-volume trading environments.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and data analysis skills with the ability to resolve operational issues efficiently.
- Experience creating operational reports, dashboards, reconciliations, and process documentation.
- Advanced proficiency with MS Office tools, particularly Excel, and experience supporting process automation or workflow improvements.
- Strong communication, stakeholder management, and collaboration skills.
- Ability to multitask, prioritize effectively, and work independently while managing competing priorities.
- Experience participating in process improvements, operational initiatives, testing, and system implementations.
Preferred
- Experience with trading and middle office platforms such as Fidessa, ADP, Genesis Global, or similar systems.
- Previous experience within large financial institutions or capital markets organizations.
- Experience supporting senior leadership and high-level stakeholders.
- Knowledge of operational controls, audit processes, and reconciliation frameworks.
- Exposure to change management, workflow optimization, and operational transformation initiatives.
- Prior experience supporting Global Trading Solutions or Front-to-Back trade operations environments.
Education
- Post-secondary degree in Finance, Business, Economics, Operations, or related discipline.
