This position is dedicated to driving sales and supporting our growing customer base specifically across Southern Alberta (including Lethbridge, Medicine Hat, and surrounding agricultural areas). At Diverge Ag we are looking for the hardest working sales and business development people in the business, to facilitate the incredible growth we have.
Job Duties:
- Qualify and engage customers and contacts to increase sales via exceptional service delivery.
- Ensure company sales and margin goals are regularly achieved.
- Effectively manage sales leads and opportunities using the customer relationship management system.
- Proactively generate sales leads through regular communication and engagement with customers.
- Conduct customer needs analysis to determine requirements and provide solutions.
- Track trends, market developments and attend tradeshows to promote products and develop new leads.
- Administer sales processes and systems using the sales CRM.
- Account Managers sell crop inputs products
- Have a comprehensive understanding of the customers’ business to align the appropriate products, services and advice.
- Driven to meet and exceed sales targets at appropriate profit margins.
- Contribute to the overall success of the business by increasing revenue and profit from new and existing customers.
- Generate new business through networking, following up on leads from marketing activities and making cold calls. Customer contact will be face to face and through telephone and email.
- Grow a marketplace for innovative or new products that provide value to the grower.
- Work with the Diverge Ag team to coordinate delivery and/or customer pick up of product, ensure adequate credit is in place and support the Health and Safety program.
Qualifications
- Agriculture based degree or diploma an asset
- Demonstrated experience in vocational, agricultural, or a combination of education and work experience
- Conducts themselves in a professional manner, and able to keep information confidential
- Excellent communication and people skills, both written and oral
- Proven strong computer skills including all Microsoft applications (Word, Excel and Outlook)
- Preferred a minimum 3-6 years sales experience
- Valid class 5 drivers licence
· Effective attention to details with a high degree of accuracy
· Work both as a member of a team and individually with minimal supervision
- Strong personal drive, a goal getter with exceptional skills in handling objections
- Basic to advance knowledge of a sales CRM (Monday) is an advantage
