OVERVIEW
We are seeking an experienced Operational Risk Change Manager to support enterprise-wide initiatives within Operational and Non-Financial Risk Management. The successful candidate will lead organizational change management efforts for strategic, regulatory, process, and technology-driven risk initiatives, ensuring effective adoption, governance compliance, and risk mitigation throughout the change lifecycle.
This role is ideal for a highly organized and detail-oriented professional with strong project and change management experience, a solid understanding of risk management principles, and the ability to navigate complex stakeholder environments. The successful candidate will work closely with business, technology, compliance, resilience, and risk teams to deliver change initiatives that align with enterprise risk frameworks and governance standards.
Location: Toronto, ON (Hybrid – 3 days in office)
Contract Length: 12 Months (Extension or FTE Conversion Possible)
Hours: 9 AM–5 PM EST
Pay: T4 $53 / IC $ 61.50
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Lead and own end-to-end change management activities for assigned operational and non-financial risk initiatives, from initiation through project closeout.
- Develop and maintain change management plans, stakeholder engagement strategies, communication plans, training materials, and required project artifacts.
- Identify, assess, and manage change-related risks associated with strategic, regulatory, process, and technology transformations.
- Ensure initiatives comply with enterprise Non-Financial Risk Management (NFRM) frameworks, governance standards, policies, and procedures.
- Embed effective risk and control considerations into change design, planning, and implementation activities.
- Partner with business, technology, compliance, resilience, and risk stakeholders to provide guidance and challenge throughout the project lifecycle.
- Support governance activities, approvals, reporting requirements, and risk assessments for material change initiatives.
- Monitor project progress, manage competing priorities, and ensure initiatives are delivered within established timelines and expectations.
- Facilitate stakeholder engagement and communications across all levels of the organization, including senior leadership.
- Analyze complex risk and change-related information and translate findings into clear, actionable recommendations for stakeholders.
- Prepare executive-ready presentations, reports, status updates, and documentation to support decision-making and governance processes.
QUALIFICATIONS
- 6+ years of progressive project management experience.
- 4+ years of organizational change management experience supporting complex business, regulatory, technology, or risk initiatives.
- Experience working within risk management, operational risk, compliance, governance, controls, or related functions.
- Strong understanding of change management methodologies, stakeholder engagement, and organizational adoption strategies.
- Demonstrated ability to identify, assess, and mitigate risks associated with organizational change initiatives.
- Excellent communication, presentation, facilitation, and stakeholder management skills.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities with the ability to synthesize complex information into concise business messaging.
- Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, including PowerPoint, Excel, Word, and Outlook.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple concurrent initiatives in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively across cross-functional teams.
Preferred
- Previous experience within banking, financial services, or other highly regulated industries.
- Prosci Change Management Certification.
- Project Management Professional (PMP) Certification.
- Experience supporting enterprise risk, operational risk, non-financial risk, compliance, resilience, or governance programs.
- Experience preparing and delivering presentations to executive and senior leadership audiences.
- Knowledge of risk governance frameworks, regulatory change management, and enterprise controls environments.
