Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Registered Clinical Counsellor to join our virtual mental health team in Edmonton, Alberta. In this vital role, you will provide expert counselling support and therapy to diverse client populations, including children, adolescents, adults, and seniors. Your expertise will help individuals navigate mental health challenges, develop coping strategies, and achieve their personal goals. This position offers an engaging opportunity to make a meaningful difference in people's lives through evidence-based practices and collaborative care.
Duties
- Conduct comprehensive intake assessments to evaluate clients’ mental health needs and develop personalized treatment plans.
- Familiarity utilizing a variety of counselling modalities such as psychodynamic therapy, cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), DBT and mindfulness based therapy.
- Implement crisis intervention strategies to support clients experiencing acute emotional distress or psychiatric emergencies.
- Facilitate specialized counseling services including grief counseling, addiction counseling, PTSD care, gender issues counseling, and working with individuals with developmental disabilities or autism spectrum disorder.
- Maintain accurate and confidential medical records in compliance with privacy laws in Alberta.
- Collaborate with a team environment
- Utilize telehealth platforms to provide remote counselling sessions while ensuring quality patient care and documentation.
Skills
- Proven experience with a range of therapeutic modalities
- Experience in working with a range of clientele
- Excellent patient assessment skills
- Experience delivering services via telehealth platforms ie. Jane
- Ability to work effectively within a virtual clinic environment
- Strong interpersonal skills for direct support roles involving individual or group therapy sessions.
Job Type: Fixed term contract
Contract length: 12 months
Pay: $90.00-$105.00 per hour
