CHEMCO is hiring Instrumentation Technicians for projects throughout the Edmonton region. - Install, calibrate, test, troubleshoot, and maintain instrumentation equipment on new and existing plant equipment.
- Troubleshoot instrumentation, and control systems.
- Inspect and test instruments and systems using pneumatic, electrical, and electronic testing devices.
- Diagnose faults, complete repairs, and replace defective components as needed.
- Calibrate and maintain instruments in accordance with manufacturer specifications and applicable standards.
- Read and apply manufacturer manuals, drawings, and installation standards to support testing, maintenance, and repairs.
- Work closely with operators, field engineers, and site teams to support safe and efficient operations.
- Perform risk assessments and follow loss management and site safety practices.
- Interpret and apply relevant CSA, ISA, and API installation standards and practices.
- Journeyman Instrumentation Technician certification required; Red Seal is preferred.
- Current required safety tickets.
- Previous maintenance services experience in environments such as steady-state operations, turnarounds, shutdowns, or outages.
- Experience with QA/QC, equipment replacement and repair, transmitter setting, pre-commissioning work, and control systems testing.
- Experience installing and maintaining distribution and control equipment such as switches, relays, circuit breakers, panels, and fuses.
- Experience working in a live plant environment.
- CSTS-09 or CSTS 2020 certification.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
- Willingness to travel to out-of-town projects.
- Union rates and support with the permit process for non-members.
