Reporting to the Health & Safety General Supervisor, you will be part of the Health & Safety Department. You will ensure that the goals and objectives are achieved while promoting and respecting Agnico Eagle’s values, Health & Safety Code of Conduct and the environment.
- Develop and facilitate the implementation of Health and Safety Management tools (Job Hazard Analysis, Job Task Observation, Incident Declaration forms, Incident Investigation), as well as assisting in developing a Meadowbank Health & Safety Program
- Initiate cross-departmental training to improve workflow and streamline the management of risks both at operational level and in larger scope such as H&S risks
- Assist in management system audits as well as audits on the respect of Towards Sustainable Mining (TSM) efforts
- Review and optimize the utilization of H&S software and the standardization of document control and record management site-wide
- Perform workplace audits on the implementation of H&S tools (JTO, JHA) as well as streamline departmental safety meetings
Other duties as required
- Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Relations, Sciences or other field related to Health & Safety
- Certificate in a Health and Safety related field combined with a Canadian Registered Safety Professional (CRSP) designation is an asset
- 5+ years of experience in Health and Safety
- Experience in underground mining would be considered an asset
- Mining experience is an asset
- Experience working in a multicultural environment
- Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to work in a team
- Excellent working knowledge of all Microsoft Office Suite applications especially Outlook, Excel, Word & PowerPoint
