Estimator requirements
Educational Background
1. Degree/Diploma:
Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering,Construction Management, Quantity Surveying, or a related field.
Relevant certifications in construction estimating, project management, or civil engineering.
-Professional Experience
1. Construction Industry Experience:
3–7 years of experience in municipal and civil construction projects
2. Estimating Experience:
-Demonstrated ability to create detailed cost estimates for a wide range of civil works.
-Experience in pricing materials, labor, equipment, and subcontractor costs.
-Familiarity with both unit-rate pricing and lump-sum estimating.
-3. Bidding and Contracts:
Knowledge of public and private sector bidding processes, and tenders.
-Experience working with government agencies, utilities companies, and contractors.
Technical Skills
1. Software Proficiency:
-Expertise in estimating software
-Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel, for cost tracking and analysis.
2. Plan and Specification Reading:
Advanced ability to interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and specifications for projects involving:
-Utility installations (water, sewer, gas).
-Roadworks (grading, paving, striping).
-Excavation, trenching, and pipe laying.
3. Material and Resource Knowledge:
Deep understanding of materials used in civil construction, such as aggregates, concrete, asphalt, and pipeline materials.
4. Regulations and Compliance:
-Knowledge of local building codes, environmental standards, safety regulations, and municipal requirements.

Pay: $71,000.00-$80,000.00 per year
