Louf is an upscale casual Palestinian restaurant in midtown Toronto. Led by Chef Fadi Kattan, Louf offers guests an array of flavours from Palestine served with a modern twist. Louf also has a phenomenally curated beverage program, highlighting a variety of Palestinian wines.
Our kitchen celebrates ingredients, technique, and creativity — delivering memorable dishes with precision and consistency. We are looking for a skilled and motivated Chef de Partie to join our culinary team and contribute to the guest experience through exceptional execution and teamwork.
Role Overview: The Chef de Partie is responsible for managing their assigned section of the kitchen with ownership and discipline. This position requires strong culinary skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work efficiently during high-volume service while maintaining Louf’s standards of quality and presentation. The minimum hours per week is 44 hours.
Key Responsibilities: Kitchen Operations & Service
- Prepare, cook, and present dishes for your station according to restaurant standards.
- Maintain consistency, flavor balance, and portion control across all menu items.
- Follow prep lists and ensure mise en place is complete and organized before service.
- Support service with speed, focus, and smooth communication across the line.
- Plate dishes beautifully, maintaining Louf’s visual style and attention to detail.
Quality & Standard Maintenance
- Ensure food safety, storage, labelling, and cleanliness procedures are always followed.
- Conduct daily station checks — freshness, rotation, waste control.
- Uphold kitchen hygiene and sanitation standards at all times.
Teamwork & Communication
- Work collaboratively with chefs and servers to ensure a seamless guest experience.
- Communicate clearly during service — timing, refires, allergies, stock levels.
- Assist other stations when required to maintain flow and efficiency.
Growth & Development
- Bring creativity, curiosity, and ideas during menu development sessions.
- Participate in training, tastings, and standard improvements.
- Demonstrate leadership qualities by supporting junior cooks and new hires.
Requirements:
- Previous experience in a similar role in a professional kitchen.
- Strong knife skills and understanding of culinary techniques.
- Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
- Positive attitude, reliability, and willingness to learn and grow.
- Flexibility with evenings, weekends, and busy service periods.
Bonus Assets:
- Palestinian food experience or interest.
- Food Handler’s Certification.
- Passion for hospitality and guest experience.
