Position Overview:
Durand Health is seeking a part-time experienced and passionate Administrator to join our dynamic team. This is a unique opportunity and the only one of its kind in southern downtown Hamilton. Our facility is a newly-renovated medical & wellness clinic with 10,000 sq feet that offers private treatment rooms and an on-site private studio gym with equipment available for our practitioners and patients.
As the first point of contact for patients, this role requires a positive and friendly demeaner and the ability to seamlessly provide a one of a kind client experience. Your role requires time management, organization and problem solving skills, as well as attention to detail. Understanding practitioner designations and their scope of practice is integral to be able to effectively offer options for treatments based on patient inquiry. We are looking for someone who is highly motivated, likes to be challenged and also enjoys an environment where teamwork and respect is highly valued.
Responsibilities:
- Patient Interaction and Experience
- Greet patients and visitors warmly and professionally
- Provide exceptional service to ensure a welcoming and efficient clinic environment
- Process insurance claim and input appropriate data and apply payments
- Manage patient appointment scheduling, rescheduling, and cancellations
- Answer phone calls, emails, and faxes; direct messages appropriately
- Input and update patient data in EMR
- File and manage patient documents securely and accurately
- General office duties including faxing, scanning, and documentation
- Ensure compliance with clinic protocols, confidentiality policies, and regulatory standards
- Superior communication and interpersonal skills are required to deliver upscale customer service our patients and health care professionals on a regular basis.
- Social media post and story creation
- Willing to take on new tasks and be open to learning new things.
- Support the Clinical Office Manager with other assigned tasks
Qualifications:
- Completion of a recognized college certification in Medical Office Administration
- Minimum 1 year of experience in a medical clinic (walk-in, family medicine, or multi-disciplinary setting)
- Strong knowledge and experience with EMR systems, Jane App an asset
- Proficient computer literacy skills, including the Microsoft Office suite
- Effective time management and problem-solving abilities
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Even work is required and occasional weekends
- Professional appearance and demeanour
- Ability to multitask, manage priorities, and work independently or as part of a team
