About Us
Belwood Lodge and Camp is a non-profit, OCA accredited summer camp for children, youth and adults with special needs. This includes but is not limited to intellectual, developmental, and physical disabilities. Located in Belwood, Ontario, our camp offers an amazing and unique summer camp opportunity for individuals of all ages (7 - senior). We value the safety and comfort of all our lodgers (camp participants) and know the importance of the respite the caregivers receive while their family member is in our care.

We are currently hiring for the position of Camp Cook. The Camp Cook is responsible for upholding the mission and values of our camp, and ensuring all of our lodgers’ and staff's dietary needs are met. They are also a key player in ensuring a successful camp season.
This is a seasonal, residential (live in) position, running from June 8th - August 28th, 2026. The pay is weekly with a salary of $1000 per week. Room and board is provided by Belwood Lodge and Camp. There is also a $500 bonus for completion of the full contract.
Job Responsibilities
- Meal preparation for approximately 125 people
- Ensure all special diets are accurately and consistently served
- Special diets may include (gluten free, dairy free, puree, vegetarian/vegan etc.)
- Manage food orders
- Manage and adhere to food menu
- Unload and organize food orders
- Ensure the kitchen and dishroom meet Public Health regulations at all times
- Oversee and manage kitchen team
Job requirements
The ideal candidate will have:
- Safe Food Handling Certification is a requirement
- Experience working in a fast paced kitchen environment
- Experience with food orders and inventory
- Experience working with special diets is an asset
- Experience working with individuals with additional needs is an asset
- Experience working in a camp environment is an asset
- Strong organizational skills
- Strong interpersonal skills
- Strong leadership skills
- A willingness to learn
- Successful completion of a Vulnerable Sector Check is mandatory
