Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Café Manager to oversee daily operations of our bustling café. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills, a passion for food and hospitality, and a proven track record in restaurant management. This role involves managing staff, ensuring excellent customer service, maintaining food safety standards, and driving overall business success. The Café Manager will serve as the face of the establishment, creating a welcoming environment for guests and fostering a team-oriented workplace.
Duties
- Supervise daily café operations, including food preparation, serving, and cleaning procedures.
- Manage and train staff on food handling, safety protocols, POS systems (including Micros POS), and customer service standards.
- Oversee inventory management, ordering supplies, and ensuring proper food safety and sanitation practices are followed.
- Lead hiring processes such as interviewing candidates and onboarding new team members.
- Ensure high-quality food presentation and consistency in cooking and food preparation.
- Handle cash transactions accurately and reconcile daily sales reports.
- Maintain a clean, organized kitchen and dining area in compliance with health regulations.
- Develop staff schedules to optimize coverage during peak hours while controlling labor costs.
- Address customer inquiries or complaints promptly to ensure satisfaction.
- Collaborate with marketing initiatives to promote the café’s offerings and events.
Skills
- Extensive experience in food service, restaurant management, or hospitality industry roles.
- Proven supervising or team management experience within a restaurant or café setting.
- Strong knowledge of food preparation, cooking techniques, and food safety standards.
- Proficiency with POS systems, or similar platforms.
- Excellent customer service skills with the ability to handle diverse guest needs professionally.
- Leadership qualities with the ability to motivate staff and foster teamwork.
- Effective communication skills including interviewing potential employees and providing constructive feedback.
- Knowledge of kitchen operations, food handling procedures, and restaurant experience is highly desirable.
