Overview
We are seeking a dedicated Long Haul Truck Driver to join our transportation team. This role involves operating heavy-duty trucks over long distances to deliver freight efficiently and safely. The ideal candidate will have a strong focus on safety, reliability, and professionalism, ensuring timely deliveries across various routes. Experience with commercial driving, heavy equipment operation, and automotive repair is a plus, as it enhances the ability to handle diverse situations on the road and maintain equipment properly. Responsibilities
- Safely operate long-haul trucks across regional or national routes, adhering to all traffic laws and safety regulations
- Load and unload freight using forklifts or other heavy equipment when necessary
- Inspect trucks regularly for mechanical issues; perform basic automotive repairs or coordinate repairs with maintenance teams
- Secure freight properly to prevent damage during transit
- Maintain accurate logs of driving hours, freight documentation, and delivery records
- Communicate effectively with dispatchers and clients regarding delivery schedules and any unforeseen delays
- Follow safety protocols at all times to ensure personal safety and that of others on the road
- Assist with warehouse duties such as freight handling when not on the road
Requirements
- Valid commercial driver’s license (CDL) with a clean driving record
- Experience in commercial driving, heavy equipment operation, or related fields preferred
- Ability to operate forklifts and handle freight securely
- Knowledge of automotive repair basics is advantageous for troubleshooting minor truck issues
- Strong understanding of safety procedures related to long-distance trucking and freight handling
- Ability to pass pre-employment background checks and drug screenings
- Excellent communication skills and reliability in meeting delivery deadlines
- Physical ability to lift heavy loads and perform tasks requiring physical stamina during loading/unloading processes
Pay: $7,500.00-$8,500.00 per month
