Position Summary:
We are looking for a reliable and experienced CNC Milling Programmer to join our team in Edmonton. The successful candidate will be responsible for program, setting up, operating, and maintaining CNC milling machines to produce precision parts that meet customer specifications.
Qualifications:
- Minimum 5 years of experience operating and Programming CNC milling machines
- Mastercam Experience is a MUST
- CNC Milling Experience is a MUST
- Capable of developing fixtures and jigs for new and existing parts
- Experience with oilfield work and dealing with close tolerances
- Solid understanding of machining principles as well as a great mechanical knowledge
- Ability to us all types of measuring tools while maintaining calibrations
- Knowledge of standard materials, tool and practices within a machine shop
- Ability to create and verify solid models to align with customer supplied drawings
- Can work individually and with a team from drawings
- Experience with CIMCO is preferred
- G-Code Programming knowledge is an asset
Key Responsibilities:
- Daily Programming, set-up and operate CNC milling machines (Mazak, Okuma and Quantum)
- Collaborate with team members to meet production and quality targets
- Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and CAD files
- Perform tool changes, offsets, and adjustments as needed
- Inspect finished parts using precision measuring tools (micrometers, calipers, etc.)
- Create strategies to have dependable cycle times and set-up times, while still being safety focused.
- Program, simulate and verify CNC Programs for new and on-going parts
- Accountable for set-up sheet compilation, programming and maintenance
- Responsible for CNC programming accuracy, set-up and produced parts quality
- Assist in identifying where improvements can be made in productivity, quality and processes
- Maintain machines and work area in a clean and safe condition
