Jealous Fruits is the northernmost large scale cherry producer in North America. We grow premium cherries along the shores of Okanagan Lake in the renowned Okanagan Valley of British Columbia, Canada. Our cherries are all hand packed in our state-of-the-art facility, located right on our farm, and shipped to our customers worldwide.
Job Purpose
To evaluate the quality of picking during harvest to ensure the cherries are not damaged.
Duties and responsibilities
- Quality control of cherries (go through picked totes to ensure fruit is not damaged and there is not excessive debris).
- Provide feedback on picking quality and damage assessments to the team leader
- Provide constructive feedback to the cherry pickers
- Take part in Health and Safety training.
- Report sampling results to Manager.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent education.
- Good eye for detail.
- Able to take direction from supervisors and management when required.
- Must be a flexible team player who works well in a busy and demanding environment.
- Strong interpersonal skills
- Able to work for extended periods of time in a focused, safe, and professional manner.
- Knowledge of Spanish and French is an asset.

Working conditions
Our working environment is challenging over a short period of time. Applicants should be aware that this is a farming environment and days off may be limited during our growing and packing season. Applicants should be aware that:
- Work hours are not calendar based but are dependent on crop maturity and weather.
- Work hours are generally at least 50 hours per week and can be longer.
- As agricultural employment, overtime provisions do not apply for these positions.
- Schedule will be early days or nights, flexibility in scheduling is based on demand. Night picking begins mid July through end of cherry season.
- This work can be physically demanding, must stand for extended periods of time and must be able to lift at least 30lbs on an ongoing basis.

- The candidate must have the ability to work well with people of varying backgrounds and nationalities.
