Production Planner – Bakery Operations
Shift: 11:00 AM – 7:00 PM (subject to operational needs)
Salary: $55,000 – $65,000/year
Location: Woodbridge, ON
Job Summary: The Production Planner is responsible for developing, maintaining, and optimizing production schedules to ensure on-time order fulfillment, efficient resource use, and alignment with customer demand. This role also supports system improvements and acts as a key link between production, warehouse, and planning functions.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and manage production schedules based on customer orders and demand forecasts
- Coordinate manpower, materials, and equipment to align with production needs
- Monitor inventory levels for ingredients, packaging, and finished goods
- Adjust schedules based on demand changes or operational constraints
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure smooth execution of plans
- Generate production labels, MR numbers, and packaging requirements
- Maintain accurate system data including product specs and recipes
- Track production progress and ensure timely completion of orders
- Prepare reports on production performance, scheduling, and KPIs
- Identify opportunities to reduce waste, improve efficiency, and lower costs
- Support ERP systems and act as a system “super user”
- Lead or support continuous improvement initiatives
- Ensure strong alignment between planning and production execution
Skills & Experience:
- 1–2 years of experience in production planning, coordination, or junior supervisory role
- Experience in manufacturing or bakery environment is preferred
- Strong understanding of production scheduling, inventory control, and workflow coordination
- Tech-savvy with experience in ERP systems and Excel/reporting tools
- Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment
- Strong communication skills and cross-functional collaboration ability
- High potential for growth into a Production Supervisor role
