Job Summary
We are seeking a reliable and experienced Gravel Truck Driver to join our team. The ideal candidate will operate heavy-duty trucks to transport gravel and other materials to various job sites, ensuring timely and safe deliveries. This role requires a strong focus on safety, vehicle maintenance, and efficient route management. Candidates with skills in forklift operation, freight handling, commercial driving, heavy equipment operation, and automotive repair are highly valued. Responsibilities
- Safely operate gravel trucks and other heavy equipment to transport materials to designated locations
- Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of vehicles to ensure proper functioning and safety compliance
- Load and unload materials using forklifts or other equipment as needed
- Maintain accurate delivery logs and documentation for each trip
- Perform routine maintenance and minor repairs on trucks and equipment to ensure optimal performance
- Follow all traffic laws, safety regulations, and company policies during operations
- Communicate effectively with dispatchers, site managers, and team members regarding delivery schedules and any issues encountered
- Assist with freight handling when necessary, including loading and securing cargo
Qualifications
- Valid commercial driver’s license (CDL) with clean driving record
- Experience operating gravel trucks or similar heavy-duty vehicles
- Knowledge of heavy equipment operation, including forklifts (nice-to-have)
- Ability to perform basic automotive repairs or troubleshooting (preferred)
- Strong understanding of freight handling procedures and safety protocols
- Excellent navigation skills and familiarity with route planning
- Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment
- Physical ability to lift heavy loads and perform manual tasks as required
- Prior experience with heavy equipment operation is a plus
