Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM – 4:00 PM
Makoon Transition Inc. is seeking a caring, energetic, and dependable individual to join our team as a Family Room Summer Child Care Assistant. The successful candidate will support the daily operation of the Family Room by providing a safe, fun, and nurturing environment for children while ensuring the space remains clean, organized, and welcoming.
Responsibilities
- Supervise and engage children in age-appropriate activities, games, crafts, and outdoor play.
- Ensure the health, safety, and well-being of children utilizing the Family Room.
- Provide attentive and compassionate care to children of various ages.
- Maintain a positive and inclusive environment for children and families.
- Clean and sanitize toys, equipment, and activity areas.
- Complete daily housekeeping duties to ensure the Family Room remains clean and organized.
- Assist with preparing activities and supporting Family Room programming.
- Work collaboratively with staff and families.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Experience working with children is considered an asset.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Reliable, patient, and enthusiastic about working with children.
- Current First Aid and CPR certification is considered an asset.
Requirements Successful applicants must provide:
- Child Abuse Registry Check.
- Adult Abuse Registry Check.
- Criminal Record Check with Vulnerable Sector Search.
- Agree to random drug testing
