Black Tusk Fire & Security Inc. is one of BC's most trusted fire safety and security providers, servicing both the Sea to Sky region and Lower Mainland. Primarily situated in either our Burnaby or Squamish office, the Human Resources Coordinator will liaise with field and office staff and Management to handle a wide range of HR duties and provide support to all team members between our Lower Mainland, Squamish & Whistler locations. **Must be willing to drive to Squamish, Whistler and Burnaby branches, and work in-office**
Responsibilities include, but not limited to:
- Managing the full cycle of talent attraction, including job postings, conducting phone screens and interviews, completing background and reference checks, and drafting and negotiating employment contracts.
- On-boarding and off-boarding of all hourly employees.
- Conducting new hire orientation, coordinating on-site training & contracts.
- Tracking employee attendance and monitoring overtime labour.
- Assist with bi-weekly timesheet submissions.
- Forecasting staffing requirements.
- Creating, maintaining and auditing the documentation of all employee relations matters.
- Producing reports on HR-related matters including attrition, recruitment, employee engagement, monthly labour reports and identifying variances
- Confirming agreements, coordinating inspections, staff and invoicing for special events
- Maintaining up-to-date knowledge to ensure organizational compliance with all legal and regulatory requirements and providing HR advice to management and hourly employees
- Liaising with WorkSafeBC following workplace incidents, submitting reports, as required
- Main point of contact for Service Canada queries regarding employees.
- Tracking Certification expiry dates and reaching out to employees to remind them to recertify.
- Creating and facilitating the training and development plans for employees.
- Submitting required hours/ documentation to various governing bodies.
Requirements:
- Minimum 5 years in a previous Human Resources role
- Valid work permit, residency or citizenship
- Valid driver's license (travel between offices required)
- Construction industry experience required
- Proficient in Microsoft Office - Word, Excel, Outlook
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Possess the ability to perform a broad range of duties and prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and use discretion in handling sensitive information
