Why is this role important?
The Program Consultant, Office of the President and CEO provides strategic and operational support to executive leadership and the advancement of CIHI's strategic priorities. This role coordinates executive activities, prepares briefing materials, and supports communication with senior internal and external partners and organizations. Working in a fast-paced executive environment, the Program Consultant develops and applies a broad understanding of CIHI's programs, products, services, and strategic priorities to bring together information and perspectives from across the organization in support of executive priorities, communications, and initiatives.
What you'll do
1. Serve as a liaison between the Office of the President and CEO and senior internal and external stakeholders, ensuring effective communication and coordination to support executive priorities and corporate initiatives.
2. Conduct internal and external environmental scans to identify emerging health system trends, political developments, and stakeholder issues that may impact CIHI's operations and strategic priorities.
3. Bring together and synthesize information from across the organization to support executive briefings, executive communications, and the advancement of strategic priorities.
4. Lead and support the preparation of briefing notes, speaking materials, presentations, status reports, correspondence, and other written materials for executive, internal, and external audiences.
5. Collaborate across CIHI teams to coordinate information and perspectives from across the organization, ensuring coordinated support for executive priorities and corporate initiatives.
6. Apply a continuous improvement mindset to evaluate and enhance processes, tools, and practices.
7. Coordinate and monitor activities and timelines to support office priorities, ensuring materials and approvals are in place to meet deadlines.
8. Contribute to operational planning, project status reporting, and special projects as required.
9. Act as a knowledgeable ambassador for CIHI, promoting its mandate, strategic priorities, products, and services with senior internal and external stakeholders.
What you'll bring to the table
- Undergraduate degree in Health Sciences, Public Administration, Business Administration, or a related field, or equivalent combination of education and related experience.
- Minimum 5 years of relevant experience in health care, health information, public policy, or executive support environments.
- Strong knowledge of the provincial health care system and key organizations.
- Strong knowledge of CIHI's mandate, strategic priorities, products, services, and data assets.
- Exceptional writing and communication skills, with demonstrated ability to synthesize complex information into concise, strategic briefing materials, presentations, correspondence, and key messages for executive audiences.
- Strong analytical, research, and critical thinking skills, with the ability to identify emerging issues and synthesize complex information.
- Proven ability to work independently and collaboratively within a matrix organization.
- Excellent interpersonal, planning, and organizational skills.
- Strong strategic thinking skills with the ability to connect operational activities to organizational priorities.
- Sound judgment, discretion, and the ability to manage highly sensitive and confidential information.
- Ability to work effectively in a dynamic environment with shifting priorities and competing demands.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office applications.
