Position Overview
The Inventory Control / Shipper-Receiver is responsible for managing the flow of materials and products into and out of Willis Manufacturing Inc., while maintaining accurate physical and electronic inventory systems. This role ensures that materials are received, stored, tracked, and shipped in an efficient, organized, and traceable manner.
In addition to daily shipping and receiving duties, this position plays a key role in developing and maintaining internal storage organization systems, including proper layout, labeling, and staging of raw materials, work-in-progress, and finished goods. The role is also responsible for maintaining accurate electronic inventory records, ensuring real-time visibility of stock levels, movement, and material traceability.
Key Responsibilities
Shipping & Receiving
· Receive, inspect, and verify incoming materials against purchase orders
· Prepare, package, and ship outgoing orders accurately and safely
· Coordinate shipments with couriers, freight carriers and drivers
· Ensure all required shipping documentation (packing slips, labels, certifications) is complete and accurate
Inventory Control
· Maintain accurate electronic inventory records, including tracking material quantities, locations, and movement
· Ensure materials are properly labeled, identified, and stored in designated locations
· Create and maintain efficient layout and staging areas to support production flow
· Continuously improve organization systems to enhance efficiency and reduce errors
· Identify shortages and communicate with management
Material Handling
· Safely load, unload, and move materials using forklifts or other equipment
· Organize incoming and outgoing materials to maintain a clean and efficient workspace
· Ensure proper handling to prevent damage or loss of materials
ISO 9001 & Documentation Support
· Follow procedures for material identification, traceability, and recordkeeping
· Support the company’s ISO 9001 implementation, including documentation and process control
· Report nonconformances (e.g., damaged or incorrect materials) and assist in resolution
· Help maintain organized and auditable records
Shop Support & Housekeeping
· Maintain a clean and organized shipping/receiving and inventory area
· Participate in building-wide cleanup and organization, including general shop areas and storage zones
· Dispose of packaging materials properly (pallets, cardboard, wrap, etc.)
· Support production teams as needed during high-demand periods
Pay: $20.50-$28.50 per hour
