Position Summary
As a Pastry Cook, you'll play a vital role in the day- to-day production of our baked goods. Working closely with the Head Pastry Chef and Sous Chef, you'll contribute to crafting exceptional pastries, ensuring consistency and quality, and maintaining a well-organized and efficient production process.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Production Duties
- Prepare pastries: Craft a variety of baked goods, including cakes, tarts, cookies, and viennoiseries, following recipes precisely.
- Assist in production: Support the kitchen team in prepping ingredients and ensuring smooth workflow.
- Ensure quality: Inspect products for taste, texture, and presentation before packaging or display.
- Adhere to recipes: Follow standardized recipes and adjust as needed under the guidance of senior staff.
- Maintain inventory: Monitor ingredient levels a n d inform supervisors w h e n supplies n e e d restocking.
- Equipment care: Keep all tools and equipment clean and in good working order.
Support Duties
- Assist kitchen staff: Provide support by restocking clean dishes and equipment.
- Help with prep tasks: Assist the pastry t e a m with small tasks, such a s peeling
ingredients or simple mise en place, when required.
- Monitor supplies: Notify supervisors w h e n cleaning supplies need to be replenished.
- Follow safety protocols: Adhere to food safety and workplace safety standards at all times.
