Position: Real Estate Lawyer
Location: Ontario (Hybrid/Remote options)
Experience Required: 1 year or more
License: Must be licensed and in good standing with the Law Society of Ontario (LSO)
About the Role
We are seeking a detail‑oriented Real Estate Lawyer to join our team. The ideal candidate has a background in residential and/or commercial real estate transactions, excellent client‑service skills, and the ability to manage files independently from start to finish.
Key Responsibilities
- Handle all aspects of residential and commercial real estate transactions, including purchases, sales, refinances, and title transfers.
- Review, draft, and negotiate agreements of purchase and sale, leases, and related real estate documents.
- Conduct and review title searches, off‑title inquiries, and due diligence.
- Provide legal opinions and strategic advice to clients, lenders, and real estate professionals.
- Manage files autonomously while maintaining strong communication with clients and internal team members.
- Ensure compliance with LSO requirements and maintain accurate, organized file documentation.
- Represent clients in real estate‑related disputes or negotiations as needed.
Qualifications
- LL.B. or J.D. from an accredited law school.
- Licensed to practice in Ontario and in good standing with the LSO.
- Minimum 1 year of experience in real estate law (residential, commercial, or both).
- Strong understanding of Ontario real estate legislation, land registry systems, and lender requirements.
- Excellent drafting, negotiation, and analytical skills.
- Ability to manage a high volume of files with accuracy and professionalism.
- Strong interpersonal skills and a client‑focused approach.
Assets
- Experience with commercial financing or development projects.
- Familiarity with real estate software platforms (e.g., Teraview, Closer).
- Ability to bring an existing client base (preferred, but not required).
